Pediatric Dental Care

Not only do we serve adults, but we also treat children. Choosing the right dental health care professional can help your child have the healthiest mouth possible, now and in the future. With our modern technology, we can help your child feel comfortable during their dental procedures.

We also understand that each child brings his or her personality to our dental clinic. We vow to serve your children, including those with medical and special needs, as if they were our kids. We offer the same emotional sensitivity and clinical excellence to all our patients.

What Can You Expect to Happen During a Pediatric Dental Visit?

First, we will do our best to make your child as comfortable as possible. We have a very kid-friendly atmosphere, and our staff is trained to work with children.

Here are some of the things you can expect to happen during your visit:

  • Examination
The dentist will do a thorough visual inspection of your child’s mouth, looking for any signs of cavities, abnormal tooth development, or any signs of gum disease.
  • X-rays
Just like for adults, the clinician will take x-rays of your child’s teeth at least once a year.
  • Cleaning
Our child-friendly hygienist will gently clean your child’s teeth and gums to remove any plaque or tartar buildups.
  • Training
We will go over with your child proper brushing and flossing techniques to help make dental hygiene not only fun but something that becomes a life-long habit.
  • Fluoride and Other Treatments
The dentist may recommend fluoride or other treatments to minimize the risk of cavities.

If the dentist notes any problems, he or she will discuss your options and answer any questions you or your child may have and decide together the best course of action.

What Other Benefits Does Pediatric Child Care Provide?

In addition to ensuring your child has healthy teeth and gums, regular checkups will help in the early identification of any orthodontic issues, such as misaligned teeth or overcrowding.

Treating these issues while the jaw is still developing, between the ages of seven and thirteen is much more effective than at later ages.
